Mr. Christian Sommerfeldt
Mr. Sommerfeldt is in his eighth year of teaching and will be teaching Social Studies on the 6th grade Blue team. He graduated with a degree from Illinois State University, majoring in Middle Level Education and has endorsements in Social Studies and Math. He recently obtained his Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from American College of Education. He enjoys sports, both playing and coaching, as well as spending time on his boat.

Mrs. Lisa LeStarge
This is my 25th year teaching here at Parkland. Previously, I taught 6th grade math and science for the majority of those years. Recently I got to experience teaching 8th grade math. However, I am excited to be back in 6th grade as the 6 Blue Math teacher. Aside from teaching, I am also one of the Cheer coaches, Soccer Club supervisors, and Homework Help supervisors here at Parkland. District 15 will continue to utilize the MGH Reveal program as our primary math resource. Both the Integrated Math and Pre-algebra classes utilize the same curriculum in 6th grade, but may move at a slightly different pace. Mrs. Elizabeth Wepprecht
Mrs. Wepprecht is in her thirteenth year of teaching, and her ninth year at Parkland School. She teaches English Language Arts on the 6 Blue Team. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Special Education (LBS1) from Northern Illinois University. She recently obtained her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University, with an endorsement in ESL, and an endorsement in ELA grades 5-8. She enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, and traveling. She loves watching cooking shows and trying new recipes.

Mrs. Courtney Kinert
Welcome to the 6 Blue Team! This will be my 19th year at Parkland and my 24th year teaching. I graduated with my Bachelor's from Northern Illinois University in 2002 and received my Master's degree from St. Xavier University in 2011. This year I will be teaching the direct instruction Math and Language Arts classes as well as providing resource support for the team. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family and our cat. I'm looking forward to a great year!

Mr. Ian Anderson
Welcome, I am the 6 Blue Science Teacher. This is my fifth year as the Science Teacher on 6 Blue and this is also my fifteenth year at Parkland. Previously I taught for nine years as a Special Education Resource Teacher. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Science Education from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point. Then I earned my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from Olivet Nazarene University. I enjoy traveling with family, hunting, and fishing.
