Welcome to Parkland!!
I am Mr. Adams, the Principal , and we are looking forward to another exciting year! This is my 26th year at Parkland and the beginning of my 20th year as Principal. I have watched our school evolve over the years and I am very proud of our staff, students, and parents.
At Parkland the students are our top priority. Our philosophy is to teach the “whole child” and expose the students to as many opportunities as possible. I challenged the students at the beginning of the year to get involved in at least one activity. I am very proud to say that our sport, club, and band/chorus numbers are higher than ever.
Another goal at Parkland is parent involvement and communication. We are constantly updating our Web Page, our homework is posted daily, and we will send you our daily announcements via Skyward email.
Please do not hesitate to contact me at anytime.
Have a great year!
Mr. Adams
Welcome to Parkland!
Thank you for visiting our Parkland Web Page! My name is Trista Vosburgh, and I am the Assistant Principal at Parkland School. This is my 20th year as a member of our administrative team and I look forward to each additional day I am here!
Before becoming the Assistant Principal, I had the pleasure of enjoying the role of the Dean of Students for several years and, prior to that, I developed and implemented our art curriculum. As a member of the Parkland family for the past thirty-one years, I truly know that I love Parkland life. There is something about this middle school that I am connected to. I feel honored to have the privilege of being a part of our students' learning.
I am proud to be a member of a team that focuses on the whole child, not only through academics but also socially and emotionally. In my vision of student learning, I do my best to ensure that all students are afforded the opportunity to actively participate in challenging and engaging experiences that help them become productive, responsible citizens. In order for this to be a success, we need open communication. Please know that I am here for everyone and don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions or celebrations you might like to share. I am always available. Please feel free to email me or leave me a voicemail at any time.
Respectfully,
Trista P. Vosburgh
Welcome to Parkland School!
My name is Kristina Shay and this will be my 6th year as the Assistant Principal. I am very excited to serve our students here at Parkland again this year! Parkland is a very student-centered school and my goal is for each student to be able to learn and enjoy each day that they are here!
Before becoming the Assistant Principal, I had the pleasure of teaching at McHenry Middle School for 11 years. I have been a life-long McHenry resident and even attended Parkland and West Campus. I received my bachelor's degree in history with secondary and middle school teaching from Eastern Illinois University and obtained my master’s degree in educational leadership from Aurora University.
Communication is very important to me and I will always be available to answer your questions or talk about your concerns. Please feel free to email me or leave me a voicemail at any time. My door is always open to talk to you or your students and I am really looking forward to a great year!
Sincerely,
Kristina Shay
